Part of the family

The Farrington family has been running outdoor activity and language courses for over 20 years and have welcomed thousands of students from around the world into the warmth and comfort of their family home to become part of the ‘family’ and to enjoy a unique and memorable experience. Moorland Hall is a Victorian Country House located in the beautiful surroundings of Dartmoor National Park in West Devon. The house stands within its own large garden with a heated swimming pool. It has direct access onto the moor and is thus ideally situated for a huge variety of outdoor pursuits which are offered in our courses. Moorland Hall is a private enterprise and a family home, therefore children quickly feel at home in the warm and cheerful atmosphere that pervades the house. The dedicated and friendly staff support the children in every way and are there to help.

Moorland hall prides itself on its reputation of having, not only a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, but also professional, experienced and dedicated instructors and staff. Every student has the opportunity to take part in stimulating, challenging, yet hugely enjoyable activities which are carefully planned and always with safety in mind.

Not only can our visitors learn physical, technical and language skills but, as part of every programme, social skills are also enhanced and developed. We do this through team game challenges, activities to develop personal responsibility and in meeting other students of different nationalities and cultures.

Testament to the success of our approach is the increasing number of returning students or their siblings as well as school groups. We recognise the importance of a personal touch and as a result we have a wide network of families with whom we are in contact each year.
