Outdoor adventure residential trips for single school groups within COVID-19 guidelines
In line with UK government policy, Moorland Hall is able to offer single school and group residential trips throughout September, October and November. Our trips are conducted in accordance with the Department for Education guidelines for residential educational visits, undertaking full and thorough risk assessments to ensure a safe environment for pupils and staff. We are pleased to work with schools and staff to accommodate specific control and testing programmes to help minimise the risk of infection.
Please call us now on 01822 810466 to discuss the possibilities for your residential school trip.
Accommodation and catering
Visiting staff stay in the main house in comfortable en-suite rooms, or in the staff room in the attached coach house.
The house, coach house and lodge can cater for up to 65 children. Students sleep in large comfortable rooms which can accommodate 3 to 12 children. Our guests live as part of the family with other children of a similar age. Our House Mothers provide close supervision at night, so there is always someone there just in case they are needed. In their free time, the children can relax in a comfortable sitting room or chill out in the sunny conservatory.
Meals are served in the main dining room where the children learn to lay the tables and also to leave the room tidy. A full English breakfast, light lunch, afternoon tea with cakes, and an evening meal are provided each day. Our home-cooked food is both nourishing and plentiful. On the final day of the course we provide a traditional Devonshire cream tea, which is always very popular! Special diets can be catered for, but please let us know in advance.
Moorland Hall is a private enterprise and a family home, therefore children quickly feel at home in the warm and cheerful atmosphere that pervades the house. The dedicated and friendly staff support the children in every way and are there to help.
What to bring?
A clothing list and a medical form will be sent to you, once your booking is confirmed. We will provide all the specialist equipment for the activities. We recommend that children do not bring too many personal possessions, and certainly nothing of great value.
Students may wish to bring some spending money. This is purely for their own needs – there are no hidden extras that they will be expected to pay for!
