Activity holidays for families and independent children in the great outdoors
Welcome to Moorland Hall in beautiful Dartmoor National Park where the Farrington family have been running outdoor activity holidays for over 20 years. The Farringtons normally welcome students from around the world into the warmth and comfort of their home to become part of the ‘family’. However, with borders closed around the world and uncertainty surrounding international travel, a UK holiday this year makes perfect sense.
Your family or your independent children are invited to relax and play in Moorland Hall’s five acres of paddocks and gardens with games areas, a heated pool and the whole of Dartmoor to explore right on the doorstep.
The outdoor activity programme is exciting, varied and enjoyable and set at a level that all can achieve. Our dedicated team of outdoor activity staff are experienced and extremely well qualified and safety is our top priority, followed by fun and an unforgettable experience.
Our range of activities include Leap of Faith, coasteering, archery, kayaking, climbing, abseiling, high ropes & Jacob’s Ladder, mountain biking, gorge walking, raft building, crate stacking, surfing, mountain boarding, camp craft and survival skills, basketball, football, badminton, swimming, assault course and air rifle shooting. We also have plenty of indoor entertainment such as table tennis and billiards, and a wide variety of board games are always available.
Prices include accommodation and full board with hot and cold drinks provided at meal times with fridge space available for Bring Your Own. Our excellent home-cooked meals comprise a cooked breakfast, pack lunch and evening meal with sensitivity to children’s preferences as well as catering for special diets.
Accommodation is one family per room with your own bathroom and a mixture of single and bunk beds. We have a maximum of nine families staying at any one time.
Families check-in between 4 and 6pm on Sunday and depart after lunch on Friday. Children holidaying independently can be picked up by arrangement from London at midday on Sunday and dropped off in central London on Friday.
